How the Blacklist Check Works
Our blacklist check tests your IP address against over 50 known DNS blacklists (DNSBLs) simultaneously. These lists are used by email servers and firewalls to block spam and malware. The result shows whether and on which lists your IP is listed, and provides guidance on removal.
Frequently Asked Questions about Blacklist Check
What is an IP blacklist?
An IP blacklist (DNSBL) is a database of IP addresses identified as spam sources or for malicious activity. Email servers and firewalls use these lists to block suspicious traffic.
Why is my IP on a blacklist?
Common reasons: your computer or router was compromised and is sending spam, your ISP previously assigned the IP to a spammer, or a misconfigured email server on your network. Sometimes entire IP ranges are listed.
How can I remove my IP from a blacklist?
First fix the cause (remove malware, correctly configure email server). Then apply for removal (delisting) at each blacklist individually. Most lists offer a web form for this. Some remove IPs automatically after some time.
